Sitting like a gleaming diamond on the quad, one of RIC’s six original buildings (erected in 1958) underwent a major transformation in 2019. The improvements included:

Refurbishing work in 39 classrooms including electrical, lighting, plumbing, air conditioning and mechanical upgrades
Suite space consisting of faculty offices, a conference room, kitchenette and meeting space for the English, Psychology, Mathematical Sciences, Computer Science and Information Systems and History departments and English as a Second Language (ESL) and Project ExCEL programs.
Office space for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and the HOPE Scholarship.

The building was named in honor of two prominent figures in RIC history, Clara Craig and Mary Lee, who both were instrumental in pushing forward teacher education advancements that fueled RIC’s notoriety as Rhode Island’s leading institution for educational training.

This building has an accessible main entrance and elevators access to all floors. There are five gender neutral restrooms - one on each floor.
